Maximal Fete is the design brand studio of Felicity S. an illustrator and surface pattern designer living in the Arizona Desert. I say it is Pop - Wonderment - Maximalism.

Here in Maximal Fete’s world you’ll find colorful design magic that turns everyday into a pop-perfect maximalist playground with a wink to the quirky. Grab some of this wonderment buffet.

And now for something completely serious. My inspiration comes from so many places (list below) but my desired outcomes are simple, joy, celebration, and connection. True joy is punk rock and hard-core, as it means to resist darkness and oppression, being kind, being bold, helping others, and maximizing this beautiful life experience in what is a challenging world. My work and designs are as the folks now say dopamine design (this has been how I’ve lived my whole life).

Inspiration from so many places: midcentury design, Alexander Girard, vintage toys (Fisher Price, Dawn Dolls, Little Kiddles, Holly Hobbie, and, and, and), street art, art toys, Pop Surrealism, Tiki/Exotica, Margaret Keane, a well known mouse and affiliated amusement parks and characters (with Southern California being the favorite), Mary Blair, vintage children's books illustrations, wonderful typeface/letters, Halloween, holidays, music (hello Flaming Lips), poster art, Corita Kent, Liberty of London prints (so good), cinema, clowns (yes clowns), ice cream, balloons, celebration, carnivals … you know all the wonderful things.
